Mission Statement                       

The mission of Harvard Avenue Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is to honor and glorify God and strive to create a loving and growing community which proclaims Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, challenges people to live in commitment to Him, nurtures them in Christian faith and actively reaches out to those in need.

The Christian Church – Our name shows that we have a common bond with the church universal.  Disciples of Christ –  Identifies members as a distinctive body within the church universal.

 St. Andrew’s Cross is the symbol for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).   The chalice highlights the importance of communion for our church.  St. Andrew’s cross is a cross tilted as if it is being carried.  This reminds us of Jesus’ command that each of us is to: 

“Take up His cross and follow me.”
