Our Mission:
Our youth ministry is based on
relationship - both our relationship
with God and our relationship with
each other. Our goal is to connect
teenagers to Jesus through spirituality,
community and mission.
How We Fulfill Our Mission:
We have two meetings a week - One
big group activity per month and
numerous small group meetings
throughout the week.
Sunday School - 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday Nights - 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Overview:
Our group is composed of high school and middle school students, grades 6 to 12. We also have
several college students who give their time and are connected to our ministry. The majority of our
activities are combined, with the exception of Sunday school and several of our small group
activities. The focus of our group is relationship and connection, not numbers. With that being
said, we currently have about twelve middle school students and sixteen high school students.
Typically, thirty to forty attend our large events. Many of our regularly attending youth bring
friends who are always welcome.
Missions:
Our group focuses on missions as a way of life. Last year we served both locally with numerous
organizations and partner churches and on three large scale mission trips. We frequently have a
spring break mission trip and separate summer high school and middle school mission trips.
Metro Worship:
Metro Worship is a loose coalition of youth groups from across the Tulsa area that meets the first
Wednesday night of every month to fellowship together and worship the Lord. Our youth group
regularly participates in Metro Worship.
What We Are Looking For:
We are always looking for energetic and open people
to be part of our youth group experience - both in our
sponsors and in our youth. Your knowledge of the
Bible or past church participation is not as important
as your willingness to share a genuine relationship
with the rest of the group and your openness to a
spiritual relationship with God. We want you to feel
comfortable in sharing your experiences, your wisdom
and your love for the Lord with us. We invite you to
give Harvard Avenue Youth a try!
Bowling and
Drum Circle are
some of the fun
events our youth
enjoy!
